The Cleveland Browns will host the New York Giants at Huntington Bank Field on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024 at 1 p.m. EST.

Matchup

  • The Browns lead the all-time regular season series 27-21-2.
  • The Browns have a 14-11 mark over the Giants at home.
  • The last time the two teams met, Cleveland claimed a 20-6 victory over the Giants in New York on Dec. 20, 2020.

Storylines to Watch

  • How the Browns build off momentum from Week 2 — The Browns claimed their first win of the 2024 season in Week 2 against the Jaguars. As they head into Week 3 against the Giants, they have to build off the momentum they created from the first win. After establishing an offensive rhythm early with a balance of the run and pass game, the Browns need to find that stability once again against the Giants. New York has allowed 326 rushing yards – fifth most in the league this season – and 434 passing yards –15th in the league.
  • How the Browns defense limits WR Malik Nabers — The Browns defense has a tough matchup with rookie WR Malik Nabers, who has total of 15 receptions for 193 yards and one touchdown in his first two games of the season. Nabers has also been targeted 25 times this season, and averages 12.9 yards per reception. Not only will the Browns pass rush have to be sound in limiting QB Daniel Jones in finding Nabers, but the secondary will also have to excel in any man coverage and 1-on-1 situations with Nabers.
  • How the Browns limit the number of penalties — In the first two weeks of the season, the Browns have dealt with numerous penalties on both sides of the ball that have played a significant factor in each game. In Week 1, the Browns had a total of 11 penalties for a loss of 64 yards. In Week 2, they totaled 13 penalties for a loss of 100 yards. The Browns have to clean up the penalties to keep the offense from playing behind the sticks, and putting their defense at a disadvantage with giving the Giants offense better field position.
