Storylines to Watch
- How Dorian Thompson-Robinson commands the offense — The Browns made a change at quarterback for Week 16, as head coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Dorian Thompson-Robinson will be the starter. It's his first start of the 2024 season, as he's played in four games this season and completed 15 of 34 passing attempts for 100 yards. He's also thrown three interceptions and been sacked once. Thompson-Robinson will have the entire week of practice as the starting quarterback in order to learn the instal and be prepared when he takes the field in Week 16.
- Win the turnover battle — The Browns have struggled throughout the season of winning the turnover battle, as they rank 31st in the league in turnover differential at minus-13. On the flip side, the Bengals are tied for 13th in the league at plus-2. The Browns know the importance of protecting the ball and not turning the ball over, and are working to limit their turnovers in Week 16 in order to give themselves an opportunity to win the game.
- How the Browns limit WR Ja'Marr Chase — The Browns secondary will have another tough matchup in facing WR Ja'Marr Chase, who has 102 receptions for 1,413 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns this season — all of which lead the NFL. In the first meeting this season between the Browns and Bengals in Week 7, the Browns secondary limited Chase to five receptions for 55 yards — the third-fewest yards he's had in a single game this season. He also recorded an 18-yard touchdown reception against the Browns. If the Browns secondary can limit Chase's success in the pass game and excel in their one-on-one matchups, the Browns could slow down the success of the Bengals offense.
