Storylines to Watch
- How the Browns establish success in the pass game — While the Browns struggled to develop a rhythm on offense during Week 1, finishing the game with 137 net passing yards. However, they have an opportunity to bounce back and establish a rhythm against the Jaguars pass rush. Jacksonville faltered in limiting Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa in Week 1, as he completed 23 of 37 passes for 338 yards and one touchdown. The Browns receiving corps is filled with talent in Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore, who all provide options as solid route runners and can get downfield to help stretch the field.
- How the Browns defense limit QB Trevor Lawrence — In Week 1 of the regular season, QB Trevor Lawrence completed 12 of 21 passes for 162 yards and one touchdown in the loss to the Dolphins. Lawrence was also sacked three times by the Dolphins defense. With the attack-style defense of the Browns, they have an opportunity to pressure Lawrence and limit him in the pass game with their pass rush. DE Myles Garrett continues to anchor the defense — who recorded his first sack of the season in Week 1 — and have a very effective secondary in man coverage.
- How the Browns play on the road — During the 2023 season, the Browns had their share of struggles on the road. While they posted a 8-1 home record, they finished the regular season 3-5 on the road. When the Browns head to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars, it will be their first regular season road game of the 2024 season.
