The Cleveland Browns have elevated LB Xavier Woodson-Luster to the active roster. To make room on the roster, the team placed TE Orson Charles (ankle) on the injured reserve list. Additionally, the team signed DB Ashton Lampkin to the practice squad and placed DB Robert Jackson (hamstring) on the practice squad/injured list.
Woodson-Luster (6-1, 220) is in his second NFL season out of Arkansas State. Originally signed by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2017, he signed to the Browns' practice squad on Oct. 13 and was elevated to the club's active roster for its Week 7 game at Tampa Bay, contributing on special teams. He was waived on Oct. 25 and added back to the practice squad on Oct. 30.
Lampkin (6-0, 189) is officially in his second NFL season out of Oklahoma State. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017, he spent all of last season on the Chiefs' injured reserve list and was waived by the team during training camp this year. Lampkin totaled 111 tackles, five interceptions, 12 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery at Oklahoma State. He's a native of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Charles, a third-year player, saw action in all 13 games (two starts) with the Browns this season. He recorded three receptions for 23 yards and added five tackles on special teams.
Jackson, a rookie out of UNLV, was added to the Browns' practice squad on Oct. 31, following two weeks on the Houston Texans' practice squad.
