The Buckeye High School Bucks undefeated streak continued Friday night when they met Lutheran West on their home field.
The first quarter started off with #12 of the Bucks, Dominic Monaco taking it to the house and putting the boys on the board 7-0. Bucks Tight End, #87 Logan Schulz quickly responded with another touchdown putting them up 14-0.
In the second quarter, Quarterback Adam Fauver lost the ball on the snap but quickly recovered it to send it down to Fullback Anthony Musarra for another Bucks touchdown. Fauver then went on to score another touchdown before the half with a Quarterback keeper play.
At halftime, both Lutheran West and Buckeye showed off their musical talent. Lutheran West impressed with pop songs from Katy Perry and Pharrell, all while having numerous members of their band break out into dance and tumbling!
Buckeye, coming fresh off a competition win, amazed with their "Seven Deadly Sins" theme. The band wowed the crowd with crisp synchronized moment and featured flag twirlers.
A few seconds into the second half the Bucks ran an 80-yard touchdown to put them up 34-0. As if that wasn't impressive enough, the Buckeye boys proceed to light up the board with another touchdown. Fauver ran in a 50-yard touchdown to put the score at an outstanding 40-0.
Buckeyes #24 Austin Bir closed the half with a 69-yard touchdown to end the game at 48-0.
The team celebrated their win with a on field circle with their cheerleaders and a final pep talk by Head Coach Greg Dennison.
Fauver was unanimously selected as the game's Most Valuable Player. He and Coach Dennison will be honored at the Browns home game against the New York Jets on October 1st.
Of course no Friday Night Light game is complete without a feel good moment.
Football father's Mickey Ballantyne and Jon Stahl were out once again setting up the team's run through. Every home game, Ballantyne and Stahl ensure the Buckeye blowup arch, which was donated by a football parent, is prepped and ready to go for the boys signature run through.
Congratulations to Buckeye for becoming the 2017 Week 4 High School Game of the Week winner!
