The Cleveland Browns have activated RB Nick Chubb (reserve/PUP) and S Juan Thornhill (reserve/injured). In addition, the team elevated WR Jaelon Darden from the practice squad.
Chubb sustained a knee injury at Pittsburgh on Sept. 18, 2023. The 2018 second-round pick ranks among the Browns career leaders in rushing touchdowns (third with 48) and rushing yards (fourth with 6,511). He was placed on reserve/PUP with a knee injury on Aug. 27 and was designated for return on Oct. 2. He will have no injury designation for the game. The four-time Pro Bowler wears No. 24.
Thornhill appeared in the season opener and recorded nine tackles. He has appeared in 77 career games with 64 starts and recorded 295 tackles, eight interceptions, 21 passes defensed and one sack. He was placed on injured reserve with a calf injury on Sept. 11 and was designated for return on Oct. 16. He will have no injury designation for the game. Thornhill wears No. 1.
Darden (5-8, 175) is in his third NFL season out of North Texas. Originally selected by Tampa Bay in the fourth round in 2021, Darden has appeared in 26 career games, including five with the Browns. He has registered 63 career punt returns for 624 yards (9.9 average) and 27 kickoffs for 565 yards (20.9 average). Darden will wear No. 16.
