Former Browns RB Eric Metcalf waved to the fans at Huntington Bank Field before smashing a Dolphins-themed guitar ahead of the Browns' Week 17 matchup against the Dolphins.
Metcalf was greeted with a raucous cheer as he returned to Cleveland to serve as the final Dawg Pound Captain of the 2024 season.
Metcalf was drafted by the Browns in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft out of Texas. In his first season in the NFL, Metcalf showed his prowess both through the air and on the ground, tallying six rushing and four receiving touchdowns. Metcalf finished his 13-year career with 2,392 rushing yards, 5,572 receiving yards and 43 offensive touchdowns.
In addition to his role on the offense, Metcalf excelled as a punt and kick returner throughout his career. Metcalf finished his career with 10 punt return touchdowns and two kick return touchdowns.
Metcalf's athletic ability reached beyond the football field. At Texas, Metcalf was a four-time All-American and holds the school long jump record at 8.44 meters.
Metcalf was named a Cleveland Browns legend in 2008.
