Myles Garrett makes NFL history with 14th sack of 2024 season

Garrett is only NFL player since 1982 to reach that mark in four consecutive seasons

Garrett record 12.29

Browns DE Myles Garrett recorded his 13th and 14th sacks of the 2024 season, and broke records in the process. His 13th sack made him the third player to reach that make in five or more of their first eight season. He joined Reggie White (7) and T.J. Watt (five of his first seven).

Then, his second sack on QB Tyler Huntley of the game marked his 14th of the 2024 season and set another record. Garrett became the first player since 1982 to reach that mark in four consecutive seasons.

"He's the best pass rusher in the game," LG Joel Bitonio said following the game. "I think you could ask all the players, ask all the coaches. He's probably the guy they fear going up against the most. He's dynamic. He's a special player. I thought he had three [sacks] tonight. I guess they took one away. He's doing his thing. I hope we can get some stuff around him so he can win some games around here."

Garrett's 14th sack also tied Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson to lead the league in sacks this season.

Garrett broke records in back-to-back weeks this season. In Week 16 against the Bengals, Garrett surpassed 100 career sacks, becoming the 45th player to do so in NFL history since 1982. Garrett also is the first player since 1982 to have 100 career sacks prior to his 29th birthday. Garrett turned 29 on Dec. 29.
