New in 2018, the Cleveland Browns have partnered with locally-owned Murray Hill Broadcasting's La Mega 87.7 FM to provide fans a Spanish radio gameday broadcast in Northeast Ohio. The Browns have also added Emmy award-winner Beau Bishop to Cleveland Browns Daily, presented by JACK, the team's official entertainment partner.
For all Browns home and road games this year, Rafael "Rafa" Hernandez-Brito will call the on-field action and will be complemented by analyst Octavio Sequera.
"It is pivotal that we reach and engage with all of our fans, and we have a strong opportunity to do that with an important segment of our fan base by creating a Spanish radio broadcast with La Mega," said Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Dave Jenkins. "La Mega is a leader in Northeast Ohio, and we are excited to add Rafa, Octavio and all the station's listeners to what already was an extensive gameday radio broadcast network and production."
"It's been fabulous working with Browns management in their desire to have La Mega broadcast all games to the Northeast Ohio Hispanic community," said owner of Cleveland's Murray Hill Broadcasting Tom Wilson.
"We also look forward to what Beau will offer our fans as co-host of Cleveland Browns Daily each week throughout the year as he and Nathan Zegura provide an inside look of the team," said Jenkins. "With Cleveland Browns Daily broadcast live from our facility, the show and our hosts can build personal relationships with our coaches, players and staff and are able to share a unique perspective that helps connect our fans with the members of our team."
Hernandez-Brito has served as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, New Jersey Nets and Miami Dolphins Spanish broadcast teams, as well as called multiple major national sporting events, including more than a dozen Super Bowls, multiple NCAA Final Fours, the NBA Finals and MLB's World Series. Sequera also has robust experience in sports radio, including time with Major League Soccer, the Florida Panthers, ESPN Deportes Miami and Vamos Deportes in Coral Springs, Fla.
Murray Hill Broadcasting's La Mega 87.7 FM airs local programming throughout Northeast Ohio, featuring music, news, sports and community interest topics.
The Browns this week are also introducing Bishop as the new co-host of Cleveland Browns Daily, which offers comprehensive coverage and analysis of the Browns both on and off the field, broadcast directly from the team's facility in Berea. Bishop, who joins Browns senior media broadcaster Nathan Zegura, has extensive experience in sports media throughout Ohio and hosts The Bishop and Laurinaitis Show at 97.1 The Fan ESPN Columbus. He also earned an Emmy as a sports anchor with WBNS 10TV in Columbus.
