MockDraftRoundup7_4.9.25

The 2025 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away, and the decision about who the Browns will take at No. 2 – and their remaining nine picks – will finally be revealed.

Until that time, draft experts and analysts are wrapping up their mock drafts for the season. So, let's check in on who they believe could be in the conversation for the Browns.

No. 2 pick: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
Analysis: Kiper writes he considered Penn State edge Abdul Carter at this spot for the Browns, but the skillset Hunter brings – especially as a receiver – is enticing to add to Cleveland's receiving corps. Yet, he notes Hunter also brings a defensive impact where he could be used in certain spots on the defensive side of the ball.

No. 33 pick: Tyler Shough, QB, Louisville
Analysis: With the first pick in the second round, Kiper has the Browns selecting Shough. Cleveland needs depth at the quarterback position with Deshaun Watson recovering from a re-ruptured Achilles tendon and Kenny Pickett as the only other quarterback on the roster. Over his collegiate career, Shough has appeared in 43 games and completed 599 of 951 passing attempts.

No. 2 pick: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
Analysis: Baumgardner writes that Hunter is the best football player in the 2025 draft class, as well as one of the most unique talents in recent years. Hunter has the ability to have an impact on whichever team he lands on, as well as wherever he lines up.

No. 33 pick: Tyler Shough, QB Louisville
Analysis: Baumgardner explains his line of thinking that taking a quarterback at No. 33 still allows the Browns to address a need for a quarterback and bring in a top talent, while not feeling the need to take a quarterback at No. 2.

No. 2 pick: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
Analysis: Reuter also highlighted Hunter as the top talent of the 2025 draft class, writing that he can play on both sides of the ball due to his intelligence, quickness and ball skills.

No. 33 pick: Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon
Analysis: While Reuter wrote that he thinks the Browns can wait until Day 2 to pick a quarterback, with the second-round pick, Reuter selects Conerly for the Browns. Conerly appeared in 41 career games over three seasons at Oregon and played 929 offensive snaps at left tackle in 2024.

No. 2 pick: Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
Analysis: Yates writes that while Hunter is his top prospect, Carter is right behind him. The pairing of Carter and DE Myles Garrett as the edge rushers in Cleveland could create an elite pass-rush duo, as Carter recorded 12 sacks during the 2024 season.

No. 33 pick: Tyler Shough, QB, Louisville
Analysis: Yates writes that Day 2 is the place for the Browns to take their quarterback and can do so with Shough at No. 33. With an arm strength that led to 23 touchdowns during the 2024 season, Shough could compete with Pickett for the starting quarterback job.

No. 2 pick: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
Analysis: Trapasso writes the choice is an easy one for the Browns to take the best player available in Hunter.

No. 33 pick: Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss
Analysis: The Browns don't wait long in Trapasso's mock to add a quarterback, taking Dart at No. 33. Dart spent three seasons at Ole Miss and completed 735 of 1,118 passes for 10,617 yards and 72 touchdowns.

No. 2 pick: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
Analysis: Tice writes that whichever position Hunter plays at, he adds a level of star power that can help accelerate the Browns' success. As a receiver, his ball skills and explosive play ability can have a large impact among the receiving corps and play a role in the success of the offense.
