The NFL offseason continues along, with the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine wrapped and free agency set to begin on March 12 – which will provide clarity over the next month leading up the draft about where the Browns' roster sits.
The 2025 NFL Draft is also less than 50 days away. The Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick in the draft and currently have a total of nine picks in the draft to add young talent to their roster.
In the meantime, for the first mock draft for ClevelandBrowns.com, radio and podcast producer Jason Gibbs, staff writer Kelsey Russo and senior media broadcaster Nathan Zegura make their predictions for the Browns first four picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
1st Round
The Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Gibbs: QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado – If Sanders isn't there at No. 2 and Cam Ward is (I don't think he will be there at pick No. 2, FYI) you take Ward. I like both of them. Either one immediately helps your franchise. You need QBs. Take one at two. Take another later on in the draft. Sign one in free agency. It's the most important position in the National Football League. Period.
Russo: QB Cam Ward, Miami – Ideally, the Titans go a different direction to leave the door open for the Browns to take a quarterback at No. 2 without having to jump up a spot. Cleveland has to address their quarterback room, and while they could still bring in a veteran, taking Ward here could allow them to develop him in the system and allow him time to grow. At the combine, Ward displayed a level of poise and confidence during his media availability, in which he discussed his leadership style and belief that his best trait was winning from the pocket, a skillset he continued to develop over his collegiate career.
Zegura: QB Cam Ward, University of Miami – The Browns need to take advantage of their spot at the top of the draft with a legitimate swing at their QB of the future. Ward seems to be the consensus top QB in this draft, although I do have a ton of belief in Shedeur Sanders as well, and the Browns take their shot on a quarterback who has a rocket arm with a knack for producing game altering chunk plays.

2nd Round
The Browns will pick first in the second round at No. 33.
Gibbs: Pick #2 is 1A. THIS pick is 1B. The top pick in the second round. Some call it the last pick of Round One. Cleveland goes playmaker at…the wide receiver position, after a late first round run on running backs.
WR Matthew Golden, Texas – After Jerry Jeudy there are questions (health-related) about the WR room depth. Getting another weapon for a new QB is important and the Browns address the need early on night two.
FYI…Browns previous second round picks included: JOK (2021), Grant Delpit (2020), Nick Chubb (2018) and Joel Bitonio (2014).
Russo: OT Josh Conerly Jr., Oregon – It's entirely possible Conerly is not here at the beginning of the second round; but if he is, the Browns could use this pick to address depth on the offensive line – one that dealt with numerous injuries during the 2024 season and saw seven different lineups in the first eight weeks. One of the main questions in the offseason is around LT Jedrick Wills Jr., and while free agency will provide answers on that front, Conerly is a solid option to add depth to the O-line. Conerly took 929 snaps at left tackle in 2024 and another 887 in 2023, grading out at a 78.3 from PFF.
Zegura: RB TreVeyon Henderson, The Ohio State University – to me this draft is all about getting the QB and then adding weapons for him. The last time the Browns took a running back at the top of the second round, it was Nick Chubb and that was one of the best picks in franchise history. Henderson is a home run hitter who can change the game and score on any touch from anywhere on the field. Not only does he bring an explosive element to the run game that could compliment Jerome Ford and the hopefully returning Chubb, but he also gives an element to the passing game that the Browns have not had out of the backfield in many years.

3rd Round
The Browns hold two picks in the third round – their own and one from Buffalo acquired in the trade of WR Amari Cooper trade.
Gibbs: Pick No. 67: LB Carson Schwesinger, UCLA – Cleveland takes their first defensive player in the 2025 NFL Draft here. I debated DT and even DE but at the end of the day the Browns need to address LB with Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah's availability continuing to be in question due to injury and they do so with one of the top LBs in the draft.
Pick No. 94: TE Harold Fannin Jr., Bowling Green State University – You knew I'd put the number one tight end coming out in this draft (strictly my opinion and anyone who went to BG) on this Browns team. A man and BG alum can hope! 6'3" 241lbs, huge games against Penn State and Texas A&M…oh and he led the FBS with 117 receptions and 1,555 receiving yards (both single-season FBS TE records). Keep him in Brown and Orange baby!!
Russo: This is where things can get a bit complicated to consider because so much depends on how the previous two rounds play out and who is available at each of the Browns' picks in the third round.
With that said, at No. 67, the Browns add their depth at running back in Quinshon Judkins from Ohio State. He's a playmaker who can make those big plays, and as the Browns focus on re-working their offense, they could use a player of that caliber – especially to add depth to the running back room. Judkins played two seasons at Ole Miss before transferring to OSU and spending his last year there where he went to help the Buckeyes win a National Championship. Judkins totaled 739 carries for 3,785 rushing yards and 45 touchdowns over his collegiate career, adding 59 receptions for 442 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
I'm going to switch it up here for the 94th pick and take a defensive player in DT Deone Walker from Kentucky. In his three seasons with the Wildcats, Walker totaled 132 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, six passes defensed, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble. The Browns can add depth to a veteran defensive line with a young player who can shed blocks and win at the point of attack. He's also showcased how he can use his quickness to win as a pass-rusher and defeat blocks against the run.
Zegura: Pick 67: TE Elijah Arroyo, University of Miami – This is some wishful thinking to land the playmaking tight end from the U in the early third round. Arroyo jumped off of the tape to me when I was watching Cam Ward film and offers a size and speed playmaking combination for the Browns at the tight end position. With a return to Kevin Stefanski's roots, the Browns will use more 12 personnel (two tight ends) to create mismatches and advantages in both the run and pass game. Arroyo would be a great pass catching complement to the do-it-all Pro Bowl tight end and fellow Hurricane, David Njoku. I could picture Arroyo playing a seam stretching big slot in this offense and having a lot of success given the natural chemistry with Cam Ward. Mason Taylor and Harold Fannin are other tight ends I would consider at this spot as well.
Pick 94: WR Tre Harris, Ole Miss – Weapons, weapons, weapons! That's the theme of my draft as the Browns need to vastly improve upon their offensive output in 2024. You want a receiver with NFL size and speed and the ability to make big plays, look no further than Harris, who was extremely productive in the SEC averaging over 1,000 yards, 7.5 touchdowns and nearly 18 yards per catch. Harris is great in contested catch situations and at 6'3", has the size to win on jump balls in the vertical game. Lance Zierlein likened him to Alec Pierce, who just led the NFL in yards per catch, with his combination of winning size and speed. He could be long gone by the time we get to draft day, so some other field stretchers in play at WR could be Isaiah Bond (Texas), Jaylin Noel (Iowa State) and Jack Bech (TCU).
