Browns 2020 Ticketing Plan | Cleveland Browns - clevelandbrowns.com
Dear Season Ticket Members,
We greatly appreciate your patience throughout our process to gain the necessary approvals to host fans at FirstEnergy Stadium during the 2020 season. We've done our best to remain in frequent communication, and are thrilled to inform you that last night we received approval from both the State of Ohio and City of Cleveland to welcome back a limited capacity of fans for Cleveland Browns home games. Beginning with our two home games in September and continuing until further notice, capacity at FirstEnergy Stadium will be capped at approximately 10 percent. We will continue to monitor the ever-evolving COVID-19 situation and will remain in frequent dialogue with relevant authorities and other key stakeholders so we can properly adapt as needed with the hopes of potentially allowing more fans to attend games at a later date, if the COVID-19 situation improves and circumstances allow.
As you recall from our last correspondence, the execution of our FirstEnergy Stadium Responsible Restart Plan is a crucial element of a successful return to having you, our fans, enjoy Browns games in person this season. We all must understand the shared responsibility we have in adhering to the protocols in our plan, designed to help keep us as safe as possible and slowing the spread of COVID-19. The critical requirements of properly wearing face coverings, practicing good hygiene by frequently washing your hands and using hand sanitizer cannot be stressed enough.
Our initial ticketing plan for the 2020 season is designed to provide interested Season Ticket Members (STMs) with an opportunity to attend as many 2020 Browns home games as possible, while also complying with government mandates and health and safety recommendations from medical experts, including the requirement that no two self-selected groups of ticketholders, or "pods of known fans," sit within six (6) feet of one another at the stadium. Please note that the situation with COVID-19 is constantly evolving, and our ticketing plan was designed with flexibility in mind. In this context, we thank you in advance for your continued understanding as we work to ensure everyone is treated fairly and in a way that prioritizes the health and safety of our entire Cleveland Browns family.
Please note that if you purchase tickets to a game that ultimately cannot be played in front of fans for whatever reason or if governmental restrictions necessitate further reduced capacities, we may not be able to provide you with the tickets you select under this ticketing plan, in which case you will receive a credit to your account for any such tickets not received, unless otherwise requested.
CLEVELAND BROWNS 2020 TICKETING PLAN
1. Priority Access based on STM Tenure and PSL Status. Games will be distributed on a single game basis in the order in which they are scheduled to occur. In order to distribute 2020 Browns tickets to STMs as equitably as possible, we have divided all STMs (other than those who have previously opted out for the 2020 season) into groups based on tenure and PSL status ("STM Groups"). Each STM Group will have the opportunity to select tickets on a game-by-game basis, beginning with the longest tenured STMs and PSL holders. To facilitate a fair and equitable selection process, we will assign rolling timeslots to STM Groups as we observe ticket purchase patterns for each game. If purchase patterns indicate ticket inventory will remain after a timeslot closes, then we will assign a timeslot to the next most-tenured STM Group in line to purchase tickets. All tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis within each STM Group.
For the home opener against the Bengals on September 17, the most tenured STMs and PSL holders will receive the first opportunity to purchase tickets, and if ticket inventory remains when this STM Group's timeslot closes, then the second most-tenured STM Group will also have an opportunity to purchase tickets to the home opener during their assigned timeslot. We will continue to cycle through the STM Groups from most tenured to least tenured until all available tickets for the home opener have been purchased. This process will be repeated for each subsequent game played with fans; however the most tenured STM Group that did not have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the previous game will be offered the first opportunity to purchase tickets to the next game. Note that if you do not elect to select tickets during your assigned timeslot, you will not receive the opportunity to purchase tickets again until your group's next assigned timeslot.
2. Ticket Locations and Quantities. Because the current circumstances require significantly reduced capacity at the stadium this year, many seats and sections in the stadium will be unavailable. This means that it is unlikely that individual STMs will have access to the seats they typically purchase during a normal NFL season. Instead, seat locations will be available to the designated STM Group on a first-come, first-serve basis. During their designated timeslot, each STM account will be allowed one transaction to purchase a quantity of tickets equal to the number of seats on account (for example, an STM with four seats on account must purchase 4 tickets to the applicable game). Depending on the selections made by prior STM Groups, your quantity of seats may not be available within the same "pod", so you may need to select multiple smaller pods to equal your original quantity of seats. For instance, if you have 8 seats on account and only 4-pod or 2-pod options are available during your designated timeslot, then you would need to choose two 4-pod locations (or four 2-pod locations, etc.). Seating pods must be selected in their entirety and may not be split up. If you are unable to find pods that correspond to your quantity of seats, please call your Membership Services Representative at 440-891-5050 during or after your designated timeslot.
3. Pricing. STMs selecting tickets will be charged the season ticket member price of each 2020 ticket selected during the process. If an STM has a credit on account, charges for the tickets purchased will be deducted from that credit. If an STM does not have sufficient credit on account to pay for the tickets selected, the STM will be prompted to provide a payment card at the time of purchase. Unless otherwise requested, any unused credit on account at the end of the 2020 season will carry forward to the 2021 season.
4. Making Your Selection. When your STM Group is queued to acquire tickets for an upcoming home game, you will receive an email from the Browns with your assigned timeslot. The first STM Group, based on STM tenure and PSL status, will be notified of their window to select tickets for the home opener within seventy-two (72) hours of this email. Please keep in mind that depending on the selection patterns of prior STM Groups, the game to which you may purchase tickets may vary. Again, seat locations will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so it is best to log into Account Manager as soon as your timeslot begins in order to increase your access to the widest variety of options. While the quickest and easiest way to promptly secure the most desirable tickets is via Account Manager, we understand that this option is not ideal for some individuals. If you need assistance in selecting tickets, please contact your Membership Services Representative at 440-891-5050 during or after your designated timeslot so they can assist you. If, for whatever reason, any game is unable to be played in front of fans or governmental restrictions necessitate further reduced capacities, we may not be able to provide the tickets you selected, in which case you will receive a credit to your account for such tickets not received, unless otherwise requested.
If you want to receive 2020 tickets, adherence to your assigned timeslot is crucial. Please note that because we are committed to treating all interested STMs as fairly as possible, we cannot accept requests for an earlier timeslot, for access to tickets to a specific game or to make special accommodations if you miss your designated timeslot. If, during your timeslot you do not select any tickets for the designated game or speak with a membership services representative by the deadline communicated via email, then you will not receive any tickets for that game and are thereby waiving your season ticket member rights to such game. If you don't buy tickets during your designated timeslot, there is no guarantee that you will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to any specific subsequent game. As a result, it is best to purchase tickets when you have the opportunity to do so if you would like to attend any 2020 Browns games.
Please note that this initial ticketing plan is subject to change at any time, particularly given the fluidity of circumstances related to COVID-19, and we will be in communication with you if anything changes. In the event you purchase tickets to a game that ultimately cannot be played in front of fans for whatever reason or if governmental restrictions necessitate further reduced capacities, we may not be able to provide you with the tickets you select under this ticketing plan, in which case you will receive a credit to your account for any such tickets not received, unless otherwise requested.
Despite this unprecedented situation, we are very excited about the upcoming Browns season, and we sincerely appreciate your flexibility and understanding. Please know that we want as many Season Ticket Members as possible to experience Browns games in person this season, but only while adhering to health and safety best practices and regulations. We understand that if you cannot make it to FirstEnergy Stadium this year, you will be there with us in spirit. For those who are coming, we will need you to be louder than ever, even with your face coverings because we must follow all health and safety protocols. If you have any further questions, please contact the Membership Services Team at 440-891-5050 or email us at tickets@clevelandbrowns.com.
As a reminder, if you know that you want to opt out of purchasing tickets for the 2020 season, you can still do so without losing your status or seat locations for the 2021 season, and we will look forward to welcoming you back next season. All unrefunded money that you paid for 2020 tickets will remain a credit on your account (unless otherwise requested), and your seat location, STM status and PSL status (if applicable) will remain intact for the 2021 season.
Thank you!
