Celebrate Latino Heritage Month with events in the community

Latino Heritage Month is celebrated in the United States from September 15 to October 15. This month recognizes the unique and diverse cultures, histories, and contributions of those who have Latino and/or Hispanic heritage.

With celebrations across Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, here are a few events for Ohioans to support for Latino Heritage Month and beyond!

Hispanic Heritage Celebration at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

  • Date: Saturday, September 28, 2024 (12-4pm)
  • Location: Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (1100 E 9th St, Cleveland, OH 44114)
  • About: Join us for this free event that brings together an inspiring group of performers and community organizations from Northeast Ohio to commemorate the richness of Hispanic culture and highlight Latin and Hispanic music, dance, and art.

4th Annual Akron Latin Festival

  • Date: Saturday, October 5, 2024 (4-9pm)
  • Location: Cascade Plaza (122 S Main St, Akron, OH 44308)
  • About: Presented by Proyecto Raices and Downtown Akron Partnership. We'll be enjoying a day of food, music, dancing, cultural performances and display tents, vendors, piñatas and much more! Live music to include Grupo Fuego and Luka y su Ropa Vieja.

Hispanic Heritage Month Showcase | Ricardo Morales Vivero

  • Date: Friday, October 11, 2024
  • Location: BOP STOP @ The Music Settlement (2920 Detroit Ave. Cleveland, OH 44113)
  • About: Join us for an extra special National Hispanic Heritage Month celebration concert. Guitarist Ricardo Morales Vivero presents a selection of Latin American music that invites listeners to venture beyond the familiar worlds of Brazilian and Afro-Cuban music. From traditional folk songs to Latin American Jazz and Rock, Ricardo has curated a program that provides a glimpse into the rich musical history of Latin America. Tickets for tonight are $20 each in advance and $25 the day of the show.

Carnaval Colombiano | Colombian Carnival Fundraiser

  • Date: Saturday, October 12, 2024 (5-10pm)

  • About: The Ohio Colombian Foundation is raising funds for the creation of their Cultural Garden at the Cleveland Cultural Gardens. There will be traditional Colombian food, music, and dance! With all the proceeds going to the garden!

  • About: Presented by Cleveland Public Theatre/Teatro Público de Cleveland & Día de Muertos Ohio Artistic Director: Héctor Castellanos Lara. A vibrant cultural celebration for the whole family, the annual "Day of the Dead" honors the memory of those who have passed and is a treasured holiday in Mexico and throughout Latin America. Featuring altar installations, Latin food, live music, folk art market, and FREE entertainment for all ages.

  • About: LatinUs Theater Company is pleased to share the exciting details of Nuestro Teatro: Masquerade Mystique, a Fundraising gala. LatinUs Theater will be celebrating its 6th anniversary of providing high-quality Spanish theater. Through theater, LatinUs has been able to share Latino stories and protect culture and traditions. This event will raise critical funds for LatinUs Theater Company and continue our mission of providing access to genuine theater works in the Clark/Fulton neighborhood.
