By the Numbers Preseason Week 1

The Browns opened the preseason with a 23-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers, as they struggled to contain the Packers' rushing attack and had three drives result in punts, two in turnover on downs and lost one fumble.

Here are some key numbers and stats from Saturday's game.

27 – The number of yards returner Pierre Strong Jr. covered on the Browns' first kick return of the dynamic kickoff era. Strong found a hole up the middle of the field to start the Browns' first offensive drive at their own 36-yard line.

55 – K Cade York kicked a booming 55-yard field goal in the first quarter for Cleveland's first points of the preseason. York handled kickoff duties and made the Browns' lone PAT attempt.

65 – The number of yards on Green Bay's opening-drive score, a deep ball from QB Jordan Love to WR Dontayvion Wicks. Wicks beat S Ronnie Hickman on the outside for the score. Hickman was announced to have sustained a back injury on the play.

78 – QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed 78 percent of his passes Saturday afternoon. The second-year player led the Browns' fourth-quarter touchdown drive and looked sharp throughout his time on the field, connecting with seven different Browns receivers in the process.

25 – The Browns committed four penalties Saturday for a total of 25 yards. The Packers committed three for a total of 11 yards. An ineligible man downfield penalty called against rookie G Zak Zinter negated a touchdown pass from Thompson-Robinson to WR Ahmarean Brown, but the Browns found the end zone four plays later.

3 – Browns QBs were sacked three times throughout the game for a loss of 17 total yards. QB Jameis Winston, Tyler Huntley and Thompson-Robinson were each sacked once.

43 – Rookie WR Jamari Thrash, whom the Browns took in the fifth round of the NFL Draft, had three receptions for a total of 43 – all of which came from Thompson-Robinson. Thrash had a long of 22 yards and averaged 14.3 yards per catch.

11 – S Brady Breeze led the Browns with 11 total tackles – including a sack. Seven of Breeze's takedowns were solo tackles. Breeze was the only Browns player to have a sack Saturday.

3 – Three different Browns returned kickoffs, with Strong, Brown and WR Jaelon Darden each taking a kick 25 yards or more. Strong led the Browns with three kickoff returns for an average of 23.3 yards per attempt.

2.7 – The Browns struggled to get their run game going, averaging just 2.7 yards per carry as a team. The team combined for 56 rushing yards with John Kelly Jr. and Strong leading the Browns with 15 total yards.
