Browns Commanders By the Numbers Week 5

The Browns fell to 1-4 on the season after a 34-13 loss to the Commanders on Sunday.

Little went right for a Browns offense that has struggled to put points on the scoreboard in each of their five games this season. The Commanders' explosive offense, led by QB Jayden Daniels, continued its productive start as Daniels showed once again why he was selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Here are 10 key stats from Sunday's game.

1 – The Browns converted just one of their 13 third down attempts against the Commanders.

2 – The Browns had two turnovers on Sunday, both of which were caused by LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. Owusu-Koramoah secured the Browns' first interception of the season and had a forced fumble a few drives later on the first play of the second half.

3.6 – The Browns offense averaged just 3.6 yards per play – over three yards per play fewer than the Commanders offense.

7 – QB Deshaun Watson was sacked seven times in Sunday's loss, marking the third game Watson has been sacked six or more times.

9 – Penalties, which have been an issue for the Browns all season, were once again a problem on Sunday, as the Browns committed nine for a loss of 52 yards.

12 – The Browns defense gave up 12 explosive plays, defined as a rush over 10 yards or a passing play over 20 yards. WR Terry McLaurin recorded the longest play of the day with a 66-yard reception in the second quarter.

60 – WR Amari Cooper led the Browns with 60 receiving yards on four receptions. He also led the Browns with 10 targets.
