The Browns lost their second home game of the season Sunday to the New York Giants, 21-15, falling to 1-2 on the season.
The offense struggled to move the ball in the first half. Meanwhile, the Giants scored all 21 of their points in the first half as they put together three touchdown drives – capitalizing on penalties and turnovers committed by the Browns.
Here are 10 key stats from Sunday's loss.
2 – WR Amari Cooper, who had only five receptions in the first two weeks of the season, scored both of the Browns' touchdowns in Week 3. He finished with 86 yards on seven receptions.
3.4 – The Browns averaged 3.4 yards per play, just one-tenth better than in their Week 1 loss to the Cowboys.
4 – There were four total turnovers in Sunday's game, with each team fumbling the ball twice. Cleveland had a chance to win the turnover battle after S Ronnie Hickman intercepted a pass, but a roughing the passer penalty called against CB Greg Newsome II negated the play.
5 – The Browns were the most penalized team in football entering Week 3, committing 25 penalties through the first two games of the season. On Sunday, they committed five for a total loss of 48 yards.
8 – Watson was sacked eight times by the Giants – the most in his NFL career – which resulted in total loss of 48 yards. Watson was also hit an additional nine times.
