Browns RB Nick Chubb suffered another injury, as head coach Kevin Stefanski said Chubb broke his foot following their Week 15 loss to the Chiefs.
Chubb sustained the foot injury in the third quarter. He was initially ruled questionable before he was ruled out for the remainder of the game. Chubb recorded 41 yards on nine carries against the Chiefs.
"I think with Nick, I've gotten to have a front row seat to what he's been able to do," Stefanski said. "I can't tell you how much I respect him as a person, what he means his football team. So really, disappointed about this injury. Does not change the fact that he continues to inspire this football team with how he approaches every single day. And I know this is just obstacle that he will overcome."
Chubb has played in eight games this season, totaling 102 carries for 332 rushing yards and three touchdowns. After returning in Week 7 from a season-ending knee injury sustained in Week 2 of the 2023 season, Chubb continued to build on his reps and work his way back into the dominant running back he's been over the course of his career.
His teammates and coaches feel for Chubb at the news of his broken foot, knowing what he means to not only the Browns organization, but also the city of Cleveland.
"The man fights back from injury. He does it," DE Myles Garrett said. "There's not a more hard working, just resilient individual in a locker room. And he just has to continue to face adversity like this. It's just tough to see because he's one of the cornerstones. He's every bit a part of the foundation as myself and Denzel (Ward). It's tough to see him have to go through this. We'll be there for him in every way possible, but it's a real freaking shame."
