This week's Cleveland Browns High School Game of the Week presented by Ohio Cat in association with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) will feature Strongsville and Medina on Friday, Oct. 11th.
In this week's matchup, the Medina Battling Bees will host the Strongsville Mustangs. This matchup comes at a pivotal time in the season. Both teams are 4-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play and looking to gain a conference win. On average, both teams have scored 30 points per game.
Strongsville senior running back Garret Clark rushed for 1,009 yards the first five games of the season and has shown no signs of slowing down any time soon. The West Point prospect put up 163 yards rushing and scored three touchdowns at Finnie Stadium against Berea-Midpark during the opening game this season. He scored on touchdown runs of 64 yards, 40 yards followed by another 40 yard dash to the house.
Last week, Medina defeated Elyria 56-20. Junior Jajuan Jackson had two touchdowns on the evening, one on a 41-yard interception return and the other on a 75-yard punt return. The Battling Bees put up 409 yards against Elyria as junior quarterback Ryan Gillespie threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns.
In 2018, the Battling Bees lost the matchup against the Mustangs 37-17. The Battling Bees look to avenge last year's loss by beating the Mustangs on their home turf.
Good luck to both teams and stay tuned for a post-game report.
