Cleveland Browns QB Jameis Winston has earned AFC Offensive Player of the Week for games played Oct. 24-28 (Week 8), the National Football League announced Wednesday.
Making his first start since Sept. 25, 2022, Winston led the team to a 29-24 victory over the Ravens. He completed 27 of 41 passes for 334 yards with three touchdowns, zero interceptions and a 115.3 rating. His yardage total led all NFL players in Week 8. Trailing 24-23 with 2:36 remaining, Winston engineered a 9-play, 69-yard drive that culminated with a 38-yard touchdown pass to WR Cedric Tillman with 1:04 remaining. On the game-winning drive, Winston completed 6 of 9 passes for 74 yards with one touchdown.
Winston has won three career weekly league awards as he was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week in Week 1 in 2016 and Week 4 in 2019. He is the first Browns QB to win AFC Offensive Player of the Week since Baker Mayfield in Week 7 in 2020 and the first Browns player to win the award since WR Amari Cooper in Week 16 in 2023.
