The 2024 season is officially here.
The Browns kick off the season with a marquee matchup against the Cowboys at home at Huntington Bank Field on Sunday.
"We're excited for Sunday," head coach Kevin Stefanski said. "It's going to be a long wait on Sunday as well for the 4:25 start. But really, a good week of preparation is what we're really focused on and then can't wait to get in front of our fans down at Huntington Bank Field."
Here are three burning questions ahead of Sunday's season opener.
How will QB Deshaun Watson look in his season debut?
QB Deshaun Watson is set to take the field for the first time since November 2023 after suffering a shoulder injury that required surgery and ended his season. Watson did not appear in any of the Browns' three preseason games.
However, he took the necessary steps throughout the offseason and through training camp to put him in a position to play in Week 1. He hit different milestones, from throwing every other day in the offseason programs, to then throwing during 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills and participating in team drills in training camp. He took a majority of the reps against the Vikings during joint practices.
Now, he'll take the field for his first game action since last season and will be another milestone for Watson in his return.
"He had a really good week of practice," Stefanski said. "He's in full command of what we're doing. Looks good, looks healthy, so he's ready to roll."
Who will start at left tackle?
The Browns announced that LT Jedrick Wills Jr. was out for the season opener, as he continues working his way back from a season-ending knee injury that he sustained during the 2023 season. He returned to practice for the first time on Wednesday and was limited in practice on Wednesday. He did not participate in practice on Thursday but returned and was a limited participant on Friday.
Stefanski said the Browns will work through their starting left tackle situation leading into Sunday's matchup, but believes they have options to slot in at that spot in the offensive line, which include James Hudson III. RT Jack Conklin was officially listed as questionable but could be another option if he is able to play.

How will DE Myles Garrett match up against rookie LT Tyler Guyton?
One of the interesting matchups in the season opener will be DE Myles Garrett against Cowboys rookie LT Tyler Guyton.
The Cowboys selected Guyton with the 29th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, who did not allow a sack in 355 snaps as a pass blocker during the 2023 season at Oklahoma. He has a strong ability to protect the quarterback but will get a tough first matchup in Garrett.
Garrett, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, is poised to have another dominant season in the Browns' attack-style defense. Garrett has a total of 88.5 sacks since 2017 and has reached double-digit sacks in the last six seasons – the only NFL player to record at least 10 sacks in each of the past six seasons (2018-23).
"It's a new challenge," Garrett said. "Just as the league is new to him, he's new to us. We got to prepare for what he brings to the game and the uniqueness that he provides. But his skillset as well as his attributes, being a taller guy, being a little bit more mobile, athletic, and moving pretty well. And he's been able to go against a really good pass rush over there in Dallas. So, you know, he's going to be prepared, but I offer a different flavor."
