MOBILE, Ala. — As the Browns continue through the 2025 offseason, Executive Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Andrew Berry is in the thick of draft preparation.

While sitting at the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl, Berry met with a small group of reporters to discuss a variety of topics. One of those was their six-time Pro Bowler DE Myles Garrett.

After a disappointing 2024 season, in which the Browns finished 3-14, Garrett expressed frustrations about the results of the season and hopes about the outlook on the team moving forward. With that came the routine end-of-season conversations with the coaching staff and front office members.

Berry reiterated that they have direct two-way communication with all of their players, including Garrett.

"We feel really good about Myles obviously as a big piece of our future," Berry said. "We're looking forward to him being on the field. Like I said in my (early January) press conference, we envision him going from Cleveland to Canton when his career is over."

Berry also said they want Garrett to be a member of the Browns in the future and is open to a contract extension. Garrett's final year of his current contract is 2026.

"I think you can assume that we do anticipate at some point doing a third contract with Myles," Berry said. "We want him to retire here."

Berry reiterated there is no interest in trading Garrett this offseason. When asked, specifically, "If someone sees you at dinner tonight and says, 'we'll give you two ones for Myles do you say I'm not interested?'"

He said, "Correct. You can put that on the record."

Garrett had another stellar 2024 season as he continued to play an important role in the Browns defense. He broke franchise and NFL records on his way to being named a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. He finished the season with the second-most sacks in the NFL with 14. He became the first player in NFL history to reach 14 or more sacks in four consecutive seasons. Garrett's 102.5 career sacks are also the most by a Brown all time.

He broke records in consecutive weeks during the 2024 season, as Garrett surpassed 100 career sacks in Week 16 and became the 45th player to do so in NFL history since 1982. Garrett also is the first player since 1982 to have 100 career sacks prior to his 29th birthday. Garrett turned 29 on Dec. 29.

Alongside his 14 sacks, he totaled 28 quarterback hits, had a league-high 22 tackles for loss and 84 quarterback pressures – the third-most in the league. He added one pass defensed, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Over the course of the 2024 season, Garrett regularly faced double teams as opposing offenses tried to contain Garrett, seeing a career-high of 30 percent of pass rush attempts. His presence on the edge and effectiveness in the pass rush had teams trying to take Garrett out of the game.
