The Browns will look to clean up different areas on both sides of the ball as they prepare for Week 4 against the Raiders, the first of a three-game road stretch.
They used Monday to watch the tape of the 21-15 loss to the Giants, and reviewed the areas of focus that they can improve upon. They also noted their strengths and weaknesses to begin their preparation for their upcoming matchup.
"Obviously frustrated and disappointed," head coach Kevin Stefanski said. "As you watch the tape, I think there are missed opportunities, certain things that we just have to have to do in order to win in this league, and we didn't do them. So disappointed. We'll learn from it, and then we'll quickly move on."
Here are the top news and notes heading into Week 4.
Injury Updates
Stefanski said that he was still waiting for all the updates on injuries but provided an update on RG Wyatt Teller and DE Myles Garrett.
Teller is dealing with a knee injury and will miss "multiple weeks" with the injury. Stefanski said Teller is a possible IR candidate.
"Wyatt, that's my dog," TE Jordan Akins said. "He's a freight train. He's definitely very powerful. He's a positive push off the line of scrimmage. We're definitely going to miss him, but we have offensive linemen who can replace that. We just got to prep them and put them in positions to be successful."
Garrett is considered "day to day" with his foot injury. Stefanski said that Garrett had an MRI on Monday but is battling through his injuries.
"With Myles, he's like a lot of our guys on this team," Stefanski said. "He's going to battle through these injuries, and I expect him to continue to get better."
Stefanski did not have updates on LT Jedrick Wills Jr. or LT James Hudson III, who both left Sunday's games with injuries. He said they would also know more as the week progresses about TE David Njoku's progress and status with his ankle injury.

Outlook on the offensive line
As the Browns worked through the injuries through the offensive line injuries on the fly during Sunday's game, they used a combination in Week 3 that they had not practiced – shifting LG Joel Bitonio to play at left tackle, C Ethan Pocic to left guard and C Nick Harris at center and playing them alongside rookie RG Zack Zinter and RT Dawand Jones. With the news of Teller's injury and the unknown status of Wills and Hudson, the Browns may have to lean on the need to shuffle the offensive line this upcoming week.
Even if so, the Browns know the importance their offensive line plays in the success of the offense and protecting the quarterback.
"The game starts with o-line," Akins said. "Especially on offense, we've got to get hands on people. We've got to push the line of scrimmage and get positive yards, not just in the passing game, but in the running game as well. We have to establish the run game before we can go to the passing game. So, we just got to go back to the drawing boards and work harder on the field at practice and come together and hold each other accountable. That's what it's all about. It's just about stand together, especially in times like this. Don't divide the team, just come together, uplift each other, and let's get back to work."
Zinter, who stepped in to play more on Sunday following the injuries to the offensive line, could have more of a role as they work through the injury situation. Following Sunday's loss to the Giants, Zinter said he and many of the offensive linemen cross train, which can help in the need to move around the offensive line.
Stefanksi said as they gain more information about the status of their tackles, they will work through the needs of the offensive line heading into Week 4.
"We'll work through the offensive line," Stefanski said. "It's definitely something that's going to be where we'll take in more information today, tomorrow, Wednesday before we know exactly how that's going to shake out."

Penalties
While the Browns reduced the number of penalties they were called for in Week 3, with five total penalties for a loss of 48 yards, they still had calls that affected the game. It continues to be an area of emphasis for the Browns to improve on both sides of the ball.
One penalty came in the first quarter when S Ronnie Hickman intercepted a pass intended for TE Theo Johnson, but CB Greg Newsome II was called for roughing the passer. It gave the Giants a new set of downs and negated the turnover. The Giants were able to continue moving down the field and the drive ended with a touchdown for the Giants.
"I think it was and we have to be better there," Stefanski said. "Greg (Newsome II) knows that you can't go up near the quarterback's head and neck area. We got to stay in that strike zone. That's a tough play because that's a turnover right there, so we will be better. And again, not a lack of effort at all, but I did think that was a roughing call."
