Training Camp

Summer's over: Browns rookies report to Berea for training camp

At the end of offseason workouts, head coach Hue Jackson said the Browns had set a foundation for the future. He also laid out expectations for the group ahead of training camp, which is set to begin on Friday afternoon.

"I told them, very clearly, I expect them to come back ready. We don't want to go backward. I'm not going to let them go backward," Jackson said in June.

"And it's really important that the men in the locker room don't let this team go backward because they've established a foundation and a really good work ethic. So what I think is really important is that they come back here ready to hit the ground running and understand that we're here to get some business done each and every day. And I think they will. I really do. To a man, I would be very surprised if we don't come back here in tip-top shape ready to practice and ready and eager to get going."

The Browns took to the field to finish the three-day veterans' minicamp.

Indeed, after a time to reflect, relax and rejuvenate, the Browns are set to reconvene in Berea for camp.

And on Monday afternoon, Cleveland's rookies -- all 24 of them, including a draft class of 14 members -- will report to the facility for duty.

Also making their way back are quarterbacks, all first-year players and injured veterans, including cornerback Joe Haden (who had ankle surgery in March) and tight end Gary Barnidge (who had sports hernia surgery in June).

The Browns will host 11 open and free practices to the public.
