The Browns are counting on Josh McCown once again.
The veteran quarterback will start Sunday against the Giants, head coach Hue Jackson said Monday afternoon.
McCown, who's set to receive his third nod of the year, steps in for his rookie teammate Cody Kessler, who entered the league's concussion protocol following a loss to the Steelers.
Jackson said it's unclear when Kessler, who left late in the third quarter, will be able to return and deferred to the team's medical staff.
In relief of Kessler, McCown passed for 118 yards and a touchdown, but also fumbled late against a Steelers defense that registered eight sacks.
McCown, who has thrown for 778 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions in four games this year, missed six of the first eight weeks because of an injured shoulder/collarbone.
