8.) Olmsted Falls (Division II, Region 4)
The Middies carry both an undefeated record and top regional seed into the first round of OHSAA Football Playoffs for the second straight year. Led by junior QB Dustin Crum, The Middies have coasted through the regular season on their way to a perfect 10-0 mark. Crum has thrown for 2,296 yards and 29 TDs while maintaining a 73% completion percentage. Crum also leads the team with 605 yards and 5 TDs rushing on the season. Midview's talented Senior WRs Logan Bolin and Dimitri Redwood have had a tremendous impact on Crum's season, totaling 1,201 and 726 yards respectively, for a combined 28 receiving TDs.
The Bulldogs squeaked into the playoffs for the first time since 2011. Olmsted Falls has shown inconsistency throughout the season, including losses in three of its last four games. A big win against Berea-Midpark midway through the season helped the team earn early playoff points. The Bulldogs averaged nearly 237 rushing yards per game this season, led by Spencer Linville's 1,308 yards and 15 touchdowns.
These two teams are no strangers to each other, facing off each season in the Southwestern Conference. Midview defeated Olmsted Falls 35-10 in Week 7 of the 2015 regular season.
Contrasting styles will make for an interesting matchup between the Middies and the Bulldogs. Can the Middies protect QB Dustin Crum long enough to get the ball to his Seniors Bolin and Redwood, or will Spencer Linville continue his success running the ball all the way to the second round for the Bulldogs?
