The Cleveland Browns lead the Chicago Bears, 17-13, at halftime of preseason game number four.
Quarterback Brian Hoyer led a 13-play, 85-yard touchdown drive, capped off by a Ben Tate one-yard run into the end zone. Undrafted rookie wide receiver Taylor Gabriel was the star of the drive, hauling in two catches for 38 yards. Hoyer and the starters left the field after the first drive.
Quarterback Johnny Manziel led the Browns on touchdown drive, too, an 80-yarder covering five plays. Jim Dray caught a one-yard touchdown pass from the rookie in the back of the end zone.
The Browns' defense held the Bears to a field goal early on and the pass rushers showed up. Barkevious Mingo was in the backfield on several plays, securing a sack late in the first quarter. The sack backed up Chicago far enough for kicker Robbie Gould to miss a 52-yard field goal. Later in the second quarter, rookie quarterback David Fales found Santonio Holmes on a 32-yard touchdown pass.
We'll have much more coverage after the game.
