The Browns got a big dose of momentum from Tashaun Gipson, who picked off a fake punt attempt from the Raiders early in the first quarter. The Browns defense has been the real story of the first half. Cleveland has enhanced their run defense, playing more like a team, holding the Raiders to only 47 rushing yards on 12 carries.
Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was able to engineer two scoring drives with under four minutes left – both led to Sebastian Janikowski field goals.
Andrew Hawkins is leading the way offensively for Cleveland. He has three catches for 38 yards while his teammate Taylor Gabriel caught a screen pass and took it 48 yards in the first quarter that setup a Billy Cundiff field goal. Brian Hoyer has 146 yards passing on 9-of-15 attempts.
We will have much more reaction after the game.
