Denzel Ward's heroics haven't gone unnoticed.
The Browns rookie cornerback on Wednesday was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking a kick in Sunday's overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Ward, the fourth-overall NFL Draft pick, came off the edge and blocked kicker Justin Tucker's 48-yard field goal with five seconds to play before halftime. The play proved to be a pivotal one in a game that came down to the wire.
Ward was nominated to his second Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week award Tuesday after winning the honor Week 1. The former Ohio State star leads the team with three interceptions and has four total takeaways.
Ward recorded his third pick this year along with three pass breakups against the Ravens this past weekend.
