The NFL has released the slate of preseason games. Here are the Browns opponents.
August 7-10: at Detroit Lions
August 18th: at Washington Redskins (Monday Night Football)
August 21-24: St. Louis Rams
August 28: Chicago Bears
Some of the Browns key additions will be returning to their prior homes early in the preseason. Nate Burleson will get a chance to play the Detroit Lions, while Kyle Shanahan will return to Fed Ex Field for a contest on Monday Night Football against the Redskins.
There will be more eyeballs than usual on the Browns' preseason games in 2014.
Head coach Mike Pettine will be making his debut as the lead man with the headsets. How much will Shanahan be using the read-option formations he perfected in Washington? The Browns added eight free agent acquisitions as well as 10 slated draft picks.
Also remember this preseason the NFL will be experimenting with extra points. In weeks one and two, kickers will line up from the 20-yard line making the extra try the equivalent to a 38-yard field goal. The kickers currently listed on the Browns roster are Billy Cundiff and Brandon Bogotay.
