2020 NFL Draft

Cleveland Browns draft USC LB Hayes Pullard in 7th round

The Browns selected USC linebacker Hayes Pullard in Saturday's seventh round with the 219th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

The pick was acquired in a trade the Browns made Friday with the New England Patriots.

I'm just happy to be a part of the Dawg Pound and ready to get out there as soon as possible," Pullard said.

Pullard made 51 starts over four seasons with the Trojans and racked up a team-high 95 tackles as a senior. He finished his career with 377 tackles and 25.5 tackles for loss, leading the team in tackles in three of his four seasons.

The 6-foot, 240-pound Inglewood, California, native was named to the All-Pac-12 second team and was a team captain as a junior and a member of the third team as a senior. Off the field, he won USC's Trojan Commitment Award and Trojan Way Leadership Award.

"I lead by example," Pullard said. "I can go out there and cover in space, tackle in space, all of the above.

"It definitely was an awesome experience being able to be a two-year captain with all my teammates and the coaches and just be able to carry that leadership mentality throughout the whole season," Pullard said. "It was just awesome. You just want to continue to motivate that and field that as you gather more guys when you come back."
