The Browns announced the game status for a handful of players heading into Week 6 against the Eagles.
RB Nick Chubb, S Grant Delpit, S Ronnie Hickman, RB Nyheim Hines, T James Hudson III and C Ethan Pocic are all out for Sunday's game.
Delpit (concussion) and Hickman (ankle) did not participate in practice throughout the week. With two of their safeties ruled out, head coach Kevin Stefanski said they have options as to how to fill out the secondary.
"Rodney McLeod Jr. and D'Anthony Bell, I feel good about those guys," Stefanski said. "They've played a lot of football for us over the last couple of years. But we have options."
Chubb and Hines continue to work through their progression of returning to play. Both returned to practice for the first time on Oct. 2 and went through their second week of practice this week. Both Chubb and Hines were limited participants in practice throughout the week.
"I think (Chubb) is just building on every single day," Stefanski said. "I think he's doing a nice job in the scout team. He's doing a nice job when he gets some reps with the offense. So, he just continues to build on every single day."
With Pocic out with a knee injury, the Browns have C Nick Harris as an option to use at center.
"Nick's always ready to go, whether it's in-game or he has a week heads up, if you will. But he prepares, like he's going to play every snap, even when you're a backup," Stefanski said. "And I think that's the only way you can prepare yourself. But he'll be ready to roll."
LB Mohamoud Diabate, LB Jordan Hicks, DT Maurice Hurst II and CB Denzel Ward are questionable for Sunday's game. Diabate (hip) and Hurst (ankle) were both designated for return to practice on Wednesday and were limited participants throughout the week of practice.
Ward, who sustained a hamstring injury during Week 5 against the Commanders, did not participate in practice on Wednesday or Thursday. He returned to practice on Friday, which Stefanski said was part of the plan.
"I thought he looked like himself, but really need to get through the next 24-48 hours before you make a final determination there," Stefanski said.
Hicks was also a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday as he's dealing with elbow and triceps injury. Hicks was inactive for Week 5 against the Commanders.
"Jordan's a guy that has played at a very, very high level for us in these games, right in the center of the defense, making calls and those type of things," Stefanski said. "But we have confidence if he doesn't make it. We have confidence in all those guys."
