BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns on Wednesday signed defensive back Royce Adams.

He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Jets in 2012, and spent that year on injured reserve with a knee injury. He spent training camp with the Jets in 2013. In 2011, Adams played for the Arena Football League's Pittsburgh Power, where he registered 56 tackles, seven passes defenses and one forced fumble.

In college, Adams spent his first three seasons as a cornerback before converting to wide receiver for his senior year. A native of South Euclid, Ohio, Adams transferred to St. Edward High School as a senior from Glenville High School.
