The Cleveland Browns 'Hats Off to Our Heroes' program is a signature program that focuses on recognizing and honoring local heroes for their service during each home football game! The American Legion Post 211, an organization that provides aid, support and assistance to the local needy Veterans who served in any of the 5 branches were honored in Cleveland Browns Honor Row at the Browns vs. Bears preseason game on September 1st.
The American Legion Post 211 aims is to take care of retired military members whether they served 3-4 years or 20 years. While some of their current members have retired recently, many of their members have fought in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Workers from the American Legion will go to the Ohio Veterans home and hospitals to visit and get dinner with veterans. The American Legion Post 211 has over 1000 members, all from each of the 5 military branches and considers themselves on big family no matter being in the Marines or Air Force. Along with all of these commitments, The American Legion Post 211 also takes responsibility and helps with cemetery, funeral or church arrangements after the passing of military members/veterans depending on what the family of the member wants. On the lighter side, the American Legion also holds parades and homecomings from active members of the military when returning home from their service!
