During each night of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Browns front office, coaches and support staff will wear custom shirts as part of an initiative to support youth football, education and community advancement. This visible show of support aligns with the team's broader commitment to using its platform to create a positive impact throughout Northeast Ohio.
On the first night of the draft, all team personnel will wear grey long-sleeve shirts featuring the phrase "Sanction Girls Flag" in the shape of Ohio, with the Browns helmet placed prominently above. The shirt not only represents a call to action but also symbolizes the organizations ongoing efforts to elevate girls high school flag football across the state.
The Cleveland Browns Girls High School Flag Football program, presented by Gatorade and in association with Bridgestone, is designed to create opportunities for female student-athletes to participate in one of the nation's fastest-growing sports. Launched in 2021 in partnership with Northeast Ohio Flag Football, the Browns helped establish the first Girls High School Flag Football division in Ohio. Since then, the initiative has grown significantly, aiming to increase visibility, access, and equity in high school sports.
As the 2025 spring season is in motion, the girls flag football program went from 51 to 88 from spring 2024 to spring 2025, with total 100 percent growth from 30 to 60 high schools from 2024 to 2025.
Looking ahead, the Browns are focused on one goal — the official recognition of girls flag football as a sanctioned varsity sport by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA). By doing so, they would provide a sustainable pathway for female athletes to compete at the highest level within their schools, further solidifying the sport's legitimacy and inspiring the next generation of players.
