Browns DE Emmanuel Ogbah could miss time with ankle injury

Browns defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah could miss next week's game against the Saints and more because of an ankle injury.

Head coach Hue Jackson said the third-year defender "may miss some time" after sustaining the injury in Sunday's tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jackson did not disclose the nature of the injury, saying "we'll see exactly where it is later today."

Ogbah was hurt on the final play of the first quarter -- a 37-yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger to tight end Jesse James -- in a back-and-forth affair in which the Browns rallied past a slow start and double-digit deficit. He later returned but was limited throughout the contest, totaling a tackle in 27 total snaps.

Jackson said he expects Chris Smith and former Lions starter Anthony Zettel to fill that potential void going forward. Cleveland signed Smith in free agency and claimed Zettel off waivers last week.

Ogbah, a second-round pick in 2016, is expected to play a key role on Cleveland defense that forced six turnovers against Pittsburgh. He suffered a season-ending foot injury last November.

Cleveland (0-0-1) plays at New Orleans (0-1) on Sunday.
