Looking for a way to give back to the community and help others? We have 11 First and Ten Community Partners with opportunities for you to give your 10 hours this year. This week we'll check out how you can get involved with the American Cancer Society, who is always looking for volunteers to champion the cause that affects so many.
The Cleveland Browns are proud to partner with the American Cancer Society in Cleveland to connect and support those in the community who are battling cancer and are currently undergoing treatment.
Through the Cleveland Browns First and Ten movement, players, coaches, owners, office staff and their families have rallied behind the American Cancer Society's efforts, demonstrating that they are true leaders in the fight against cancer here in the greater Cleveland area.
The Browns have participated in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer since 2009. As part of the NFL's "Crucial Catch" initiative each October, the Browns organization brings awareness to cancer prevention and screening on and off the field, celebrates cancer survivorship by treating patients to unique game day experiences, and work to improve the lives of all those affected by cancer by engaging with the Society's programs and services. The Browns' charitable efforts have enabled thousands to receive free of charge potentially life-saving cancer screenings. The Cleveland Browns are certainly doing their part to help finish the fight against cancer!
The American Cancer Society is a global grassroots force of nearly 2 million volunteers dedicated to saving lives, celebrating lives and leading the fight for a world without cancer. From breakthrough research to free lodging near treatment, a 24/7/365 live helpline, free rides to treatment and convening powerful activists to create awareness and impact, the Society is the only organization attacking cancer from every angle. For more information go to www.cancer.org.
We'd like to introduce an opportunity specifically for you to give back when and how you can through the American Cancer Society Road to Recovery.
Every day cancer patients in your area miss potentially life-saving cancer treatment appointments simply because they can't get there. Some don't have a car, and others may be too ill to drive. But they all need the same thing: a ride.
In the Road To Recovery program, volunteers drive cancer patients to and from their appointments. This rewarding experience allows you to give back on a flexible schedule that works for you. You'll meet incredible people and be able to provide encouragement to cancer patients when they need it the most.
Pamela shared her story of how she gives back through the program and why she enjoys it so much!
Each year, the American Cancer Society provides over 185,000 rides to and from appointments for over 12,000 patients, but there are more people who need help.
Cleveland fans, volunteers are needed! Even if you can't drive, there are other ways you can help the Road To Recovery program. Please don't let another patient in your area miss potentially life-saving cancer treatment appointments. Sign up to become a Road To Recovery volunteer today at www.cancer.org.

The Browns are dedicated to #give10 through the team's First and Ten initiative. Launched in June 2014, the Cleveland Browns First and Ten campaign is the team's community program, established to inspire fans to volunteer in and help their communities throughout the world by volunteering for 10 hours each year. Since its inception, Browns fans have committed to volunteering more than 1.5 million hours to impact their communities by pledging to #give10. Through First and Ten, the Browns are the only NFL club to promote a long-term volunteering program that unifies the team and its entire fan base, with the goal of impacting every individual's city across the globe, as well as the franchise's local community. All Browns fans are encouraged to join the volunteering effort by signing the First and Ten pledge on the team's website and by sharing their stories with #give10
