Name:Carol Patton
Hometown: Cleveland, OH
How they give back:
Carol is a kindergarten teacher always looking for ways to teach her kids how to be better citizens and help the environment. Just in time for Earth Day she begun a unit on soil, rock and water. They learned the basics of how natural systems work together. Today her students planted flowers to grow and tend to until Mother's Day, when they can gift them to their moms. She also has a running theme of encouraging her students to practice kindness and do things for others and finding ways to reach out and dig deeper into the community to #give10.
Name:Will Napoli
Hometown: Cleveland, OH
How they give back:
Will works at the local Cleveland Public Library, but on his own time he combines his passion with a unique youth development mechanism. Will is into robots. He uses his knowledge and skill to teach kids how to construct and operate robots. He teaches kids who show an interest in the library as well as his nephew and other students. He currently also coaches and sponsors a team in robotics competitions. It's a great opportunity to give back and help others cultivate a hobby that they might not have been exposed to otherwise.
Name:Bob and Lois M.
Hometown: Middleburg Heights
How they give back:
Bob and Lois are very involved in their church. Volunteering their time whenever asked. Their favorite way to give back is through Habitat for Humanity. During the warmer months from about May to November they help members of their church build a house for someone in need. Bob assists with construction and hands-on work when he can, or works in the ReStore, but Lois and other wives cook meals for those who work. Every Wednesday they feed those who labor during the day on the house for countless hours. It's a cause that brings together families and churches for a great cause and bigger purpose—to help those in need. Lois said that she's always wanted to work with Habitat in some way and when she retired that's exactly what she did.
