The countdown is officially on, as the 2025 NFL Draft is set to kick off on April 24 with Round 1. Over a three-day period, 257 selections will be made across the league – and the Browns hold 10 of those picks.

One position the Browns could look at during the second and third day of the draft is running back. Cleveland's running back room currently consists of Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr., and the addition of a young running back would add depth to the position group.

NFL Network's Cynthia Frelund highlighted four prospects who could be a potential fit in Cleveland – Omarion Hampton, Cam Skattebo, Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson.

Hampton, who played three seasons for UNC, totaled 622 carries for 3,565 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns. He also added 73 receptions for 635 receiving yards and four touchdowns over his collegiate career. For Frelund, Hampton ranks as her second-best prospect at the position.

"He's a three down back who forces missed tackles and earns yards after contact at an elite rate," Frelund said. "He's a willing blocker in pass protection, as he picks up blitzers with his body at the optimal angle to absorb pressure at the third-best rate in this class. Factor in his speed, especially at his size – he's 6 feet tall, 221 pounds and ran a 4.46 40-yard dash with a 1.54 second 10-yard split at the combine. Then add in that he had 73 receptions at the college level and the potential for him to handle a full workload day one becomes clearer."

Skattebo ranks as Frelund's third-best back in the 2025 draft class, who also projects to be a three-down running back.

In his two seasons at Arizona State, Skattebo recorded 457 carries for 2,494 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns. He also added 69 receptions for 891 receiving yards and four touchdowns. During the 2024 season, Skattebo led the Big-12 in both carries with 293 attempts and rushing yards with 1,711.

"Cam Skattebo who, along with Hampton and Ashton Jeanty, are the only other running backs in this class whose college production puts them in the top 95th percentile in contact balance resulting in yards after contact in a 10-season sample at the position," Frelund said. "At 5-foot-9.5 and 219 pounds, he also jumped out of the gym with a 39.5. Last season at ASU, he became just the second Big-12 player ever to earn 1,500-plus rushing yards and 500-plus receiving yards in a season."

Judkins spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Ole Miss, where he totaled 545 carries for 2,725 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns. In addition, he also had 37 receptions for 281 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He then transferred to Ohio State for the 2024 season, where he recorded 194 carries for 1,060 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. He also added 22 receptions for 161 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

"Quinshon Judkins from the Ohio State University ran a 4.48 forty and had an 11-foot broad jump," Frelund said. "He's 6 feet tall and 221 pounds. Computer Vision shows his burst – which is a measure of how he explodes and accelerates starting the moment he has possession of the ball – is second best in this class. His body control and receiving skills are also plusses. Judkins' pro potential is a little more scheme and system dependent than the other two backs I've mentioned so far, as in where he lands matters in terms of just how successful he can be. As a Brown, he forecasts to have a shortened learning curve and skews towards his greatest potential."

Henderson played all four seasons at Ohio State and finished his collegiate career with 590 carries for 3,761 rushing yards and 42 touchdowns. He also added 77 receptions for 853 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Henderson appeared in 47 collegiate games over four seasons.

"Judkins' teammate TreVeyon Henderson averaged 7.1 yards per rush last season, with 4.2 of them coming after contact, and is also an intriguing fit for Cleveland," Frelund said. "At 5-foot-10 and 202 pounds, he ran a 4.43 and had a 10-foot-8 broad jump. Computer Vision shows his burst and ability to make lateral cuts in space are two of his biggest strengths, which helped lead to his 32 total rushes of over 10 yards – which ranked tied for 26th among all college backs this season."

NFL Network's Cynthia Frelund looks at Omarion Hampton, Cam Skattebo, Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson as running back prospects for the Browns.
