Plenty has changed since the first version of ClevelandBrowns.com's 2018 mock draft, and the Browns were at the center of most of it.
The Browns swung not one, not two, but three big trades to fill places of need on their roster. Free agency happened, and Cleveland was as active as any team. And a big trade between the Jets and Colts certainly adds a little more intrigue to the Browns' No. 4 overall pick.
If you missed Version 1.0, here's who Nathan Zegura, Andrew Gribble and Patrick Maks tabbed the Browns to take at picks No. 1, No. 4, No. 33 and No. 35.
An earlier version of this draft has since been edited in the wake of a reported trade between the Patriots and Rams.
Zegura
- QB Sam Darnold (USC)
- DB Minkah Fitzpatrick (Alabama)
- CB Isaiah Oliver (Colorado)
- RB Sony Michel (Georgia)
Gribble
- Darnold
- DE Bradley Chubb (NC State)
- OT Mike McGlinchey (Notre Dame)
- RB Nick Chubb (Georgia)
Maks
- QB Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma)
- Fitzpatrick
- RB Derrius Guice (LSU)
- CB Jaire Alexander (Louisville)
With 23 days to go, here's where they stand now.
Nathan Zegura
1. BROWNS – QB Sam Darnold (USC) - He was the top prospect when they stopped playing football and nothing has happened to change that, so the Browns turn in the card for Darnold at No. 1.
- Giants – QB Josh Rosen (UCLA)
- Jets – QB Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma)
- Broncos (projected trade with Browns) – QB Josh Allen (Wyoming)
5. BROWNS (projected trade with Broncos) - DE Bradley Chubb (NC State) - QBs go 1,2,3,4 in the draft, and the the Browns are able to squeeze some extra value out of the Broncos to move down just one spot while still landing the top player on their board.
- Colts – RB Saquon Barkley (Penn State)
- Buccaneers – DB Minkah Fitzpatrick (Alabama)
- Bears – OG Quenton Nelson (Notre Dame)
- 49ers – S Derwin James (Florida State)
- Raiders – LB Tremaine Edmunds (Virginia Tech)
- Dolphins – DT Maurice Hurst (Michigan)
- Bills – LB Harold Landry (Boston College)
- Redskins – CB Denzel Ward (Ohio State)
- Packers – CB Mike Hughes (UCF)
- Cardinals – QB Lamar Jackson (Louisville)
- Ravens – WR Calvin Ridley (Alabama)
- Chargers – DT Vita Vea (Washington)
- Seahawks – OT Mike McGlinchey (Notre Dame)
- Cowboys – DT Da'Ron Payne (Alabama)
- Lions – RB Derrius Guice (LSU)
- Bengals – OG Will Hernandez (UTEP)
- Bills – QB Mason Rudolph (Oklahoma State)
- Patriots (reported trade with Rams) – CB Josh Jackson (Iowa)
- Panthers – WR Courtland Sutton (SMU)
- Titans – C Billy Price (Ohio State)
- Falcons – OG Isaiah Wynn (Georgia)
- Saints – TE Dallas Goedert (South Dakota State)
- Steelers – LB Rashaan Evans (Alabama)
- Jaguars – TE Hayden Hurst (South Carolina)
- Vikings – OT Kolton Miller (UCLA)
- Patriots – OT Connor Williams (Texas)
- Eagles – CB Jaire Alexander (Louisville)
33. BROWNS – WR D.J. Moore (Maryland) – After addressing the secondary heavily in the offseason, the Browns turn to playmakers with their next two picks. Moore reminds many of a bigger, more explosive version of former Terrapins WR Stefon Diggs and would give the Browns yet another weapon in the passing game.
- Giants - RB Ronald Jones II (USC)
35. BROWNS – RB Sony Michel (Georgia) – Michel is my favorite of the next group, possessing power between the tackles, home-run hitting ability and good hands out of the backfield. This could very well end up as Rashaad Penny or Ronald Jones II (think Jamaal Charles), but the Browns will get an excellent running back at the top of Round 2.
Andrew Gribble
1. BROWNS - QB Sam Darnold (USC) - I'm sticking to my guns at the top of the draft, where the Browns have the opportunity to take whomever they believe to be the franchise's future long-term quarterback. Darnold, at just 20 years old, would be stepping into a situation where he wouldn't be needed right away in the wake of Cleveland adding Tyrod Taylor and Drew Stanton to the quarterbacks room.
- Giants - QB Josh Allen (Wyoming)
- Jets - QB Josh Rosen (UCLA)
4. BROWNS - DE Bradley Chubb (NC State) - Trade possibilities will be swirling but the Browns stay put and get this year's best defensive player.
- Dolphins (projected trade with Broncos) - QB Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma)
- Colts - RB Saquon Barkley (Penn State)
- Buccaneers - DB Minkah Fitzpatrick (Alabama)
- Bears - OG Quenton Nelson (Notre Dame)
- 49ers - LB Roquan Smith (Georgia)
- Raiders - LB Tremaine Edmunds (Virginia Tech)
- Broncos - CB Denzel Ward (Ohio State)
- Bills - DT Vita Vea (Washington)
- Redskins - WR Calvin Ridley (Alabama)
- Packers - S Derwin James (Florida State)
- Cardinals - QB Mason Rudolph (Oklahoma State)
- Ravens - DT Da'Ron Payne (Alabama)
- Chargers - DT Maurice Hurst (Michigan)
- Seahawks - LB Harold Landry (Boston College)
- Cowboys - LB Rashaan Evans (Alabama)
- Lions - DE Marcus Davenport (Texas-San Antonio)
- Bengals - OG Will Hernandez (UTEP)
- Bills - CB Mike Hughes (UCF)
- Patriots (reported trade with Rams) - LB Leighton Vander Esch (Boise State)
- Panthers - OG Isaiah Wynn (Georgia)
25. BROWNS (projected trade with Titans) - OT Mike McGlinchey (Notre Dame) - Cleveland finds an ideal spot to land a third first-rounder by swinging a trade with a team it's done business with in the past.
- Falcons - DT Taven Bryan (Florida)
- Saints - TE Mike Gesicki (Penn State)
- Steelers - DE Sam Hubbard (Ohio State)
- Jaguars - WR D.J. Moore (Maryland)
- Vikings - OT Connor Williams (Texas)
- Patriots - CB Josh Jackson (Iowa)
- Eagles - CB Jaire Alexander (Louisville)
- Titans (projected trade with Browns) - DE Arden Key (LSU)
- Giants - OL James Daniels (Iowa)
35. BROWNS - CB Isaiah Oliver (Colorado) - Even after hammering away at the position in free agency, you can never have enough talent at the position.

Jackson reiterated he wants the "best five guys out there" and he said undrafted rookie Desmond Harrison could be in the mix. (AP Photo/Paul Sancya, File)
