The Cleveland Browns Fan of the Year inspires others, has an extraordinary passion for the game of football and the Cleveland Browns, and loves the city of Cleveland! Vote for Lawrence to be the NFL's Ultimate Fan Of The Year!
Since 1985, Marine Corps veteran and 2024 Browns Fan of the Year nominee Lawrence "Larry" Schmitz has attended every Cleveland Browns home game, hot dog and diet pop in hand, cheering from start to finish. Larry's Browns fandom started 40 years ago, bonding with family and friends as a season ticket holder. He first attended games with his oldest brother and later shared the tradition with his five children and 11 grandchildren. A lifelong Browns fan, Larry played football in his Cleveland neighborhood from age five and was inspired by his brother's stories of the 1964 NFL Championship. Proudly serving two-and-a-half years in the Marine Corps, Larry has also honored the Browns Salute to Service Game by holding the flag on the field, a moment shared with his daughter Katie in 2023.
