To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, the Cleveland Browns Stay in the Game! Attendance Network recognized educators across Northeast Ohio throughout the week in partnership with University Hospitals, a signature partner of the program.
When students develop strong relationships with educators at their school, it creates a welcoming climate that helps students want to come to school each day. Teachers play a crucial role in supporting improved school attendance, and the Browns and Stay in the Game! are excited to honor their hard work this week and throughout the school year.
Tuesday, May 7
On Tuesday afternoon, Cleveland Browns defensive back D'Anthony Bell and Stay in the Game! visited Berea-Midpark High School of Berea City School District to recognize over 200 educators that work in the building for their hard work and dedication to their students. Educators enjoyed cupcakes and cookies catered through Cleveland Huddle restaurant Sweet Fix and each educator took home some Browns gear including hats, shirts, and classroom supplies. Bell surprised educator and coach Leo Barther with a signed football for his work launching the Berea unified sports program – a team created for students of all sports abilities – and its inaugural season.
Thursday, May 9
On Thursday, Stay in the Game! visited Almira Pre-K-8 Academy of Cleveland Metropolitan School District and brought breakfast to over 70 educators. The breakfast was provided by University Hospitals and catered by Cleveland Huddle restaurant No Fork. Educators started the morning hanging out with Chomps while they grabbed breakfast and a classroom kit from Shoes and Clothes for Kids that was filled with much needed school supplies. Three educators were also chosen by principal Jim Greene to have Chomps drop by their classroom to give them special recognition and a signed football.
